Macclesfield Town’s Mitch Hancox has this week become the latest client to join ACHIEVE.
24-year-old Hancox has had an excellent 2017-18 season, scoring 6 goals so far to help Macclesfield Town to the top of the National League and on the brink of promotion to the Football League.
Solihull-born Hancox began his career with Birmingham City, joining the club at the age of eight and making his reserve team debut at the age of just 15.
A left-back who was highly regarded at St Andrews, he signed a two-year scholarship in July 2010 and signed his first professional contract in May 2012.
He made his senior debut in October 2012 against Huddersfield Town in the Championship and he went on to make twenty appearances, fourteen of those as starts, before signing a new three-year contract.
In 2015, Hancox signed on loan at Crawley Town and went on to make 15 league appearances, scoring on his home debut against Leyton Orient.
In the summer of 2016, he left Birmingham City after 33 league appearances and 40 appearances in all competitions for Brum and signed in August 2016 for National League club Macclesfield Town.
After appearing in a holding midfield role, as well as at his customary left-back position, he then moved to the left-wing and weighed in with a number of important goals, finishing the 2016-17 campaign with 38 appearances and 6 goals, including a hat-trick against Borehamwood in March 2017. He also helped the club to reach Wembley Stadium in the FA Trophy final.
He has continued that fine form in the 2017-18 season, scoring his second senior hat-trick in January 2018 away to FC Halifax Town and he currently has 6 goals in 35 National League appearances, having helped the Silkmen to the top of the table.
ACHIEVE Director Dave Garley said: “We are delighted to welcome Mitch to ACHIEVE.
“He is an outstanding player with great potential who we believe can progress back up the Football League pyramid.
“He has a lovely left foot and has been a mainstay in the Macclesfield side over the past two seasons and he has really shone and has impressed everyone at ACHIEVE.
“He becomes the latest in a long line of hungry, ambitious players that we have worked with over the years and we look forward to representing Mitch moving forwards.
“Welcome to ACHIEVE, Mitch.”
