Three ACHIEVE clients have been selected to train and play at this summer’s V9 Academy.
Blyth Spartans’ Dan Maguire, Weston-super-Mare’s Gethyn Hill and former Woking frontman Inih Effiong will all feature after being selected. The academy will run from June 4th to the 8th.
Maguire, a real fans’ favourite at Blyth Spartans, has scored 16 National League North goals this season and was rewarded with a call-up to the England C national team.
Frontman Gethyn Hill netted 18 National League South strikes for Weston-super-Mare, enjoying a great first season with the club after joining from Cinderford Town.
Meanwhile, 6 foot 3” Effiong struck 10 goals for National League Woking, including fine individual goals against League One sides Bury and Peterborough United in the FA Cup.
The V9 Academy is funded by Leicester City and England international striker Jamie Vardy and aims to showcase the best non-league talent to Premier League, Football League and Scottish Premier League clubs, with the players training for a week at Manchester City’s first-class facilities before playing matches in front of scouts on Tuesday, June 5th and Friday, June 8th.
The academy will host 42 successful applicants who will be split into 3 teams of 14 players for a 5-day residential programme.
You can find out more at the V9 Academy website.
Well done to all three players for being selected.
