Immanuelson Duku makes Football League debut

Immanuelson Duku made his Football League debut just under a fortnight after joining Cheltenham Town from non-league Hayes & Yeading United, but he was unable to prevent the Robins from succumbing to a 0-1 home defeat to Crawley Town.

At a baking hot Whaddon Road, Duku led the line, wearing the number 9 shirt on the opening day of the 2018-19 campaign and the 6 foot 3″ frontman gave a good account of himself, coming close to opening the scoring after 15 minutes, only to see goalkeeper Glenn Morris deny his effort with his legs.

The visitors took the lead after 62 minutes as Ollie Palmer headed home a cross.

Robins substitute Kevin Kalala earned a penalty in the 72nd minute, but the hosts spurned the chance to level as Kevin Dawson’s spot-kick hit the crossbar.

Congratulations on your Football League debut, Immanuelson, from everyone at ACHIEVE.
