Scott Quigley hits reserves brace

ACHIEVE client Scott Quigley struck twice as Port Vale won 5-3 against Notts County in a reserves fixture in the Central League.

Quigley – on loan from Blackpool – netted the opening goal on 6 minutes from David Worrall’s cross and he doubled his and Vale’s tally for the day on 15 minutes as he ran on to Lewis Hardcastle’s pass to fire into the back of the net.

Notts County then launched a comeback, scoring twice to draw level through Sam Osbourne on 28 minutes and then again on 63 minutes.

Quigley then turned provider just two minutes later as the Valiants went back in front as he set up Idris Kanu.

David Worrall fired in from 20-yards on 72 minutes but just three minutes Notts County pulled another goal back.

Vale sealed the win on 79 minutes as an Owen Betts own goal completed a 5-3 win in an eight-goal thriller.
